Oahu

Oahu is the third largest and most populated island within the Hawaiian Island Chain. Being a typical tourist destination, birders often find themselves on the island as part of a family vacation. Although there are numerous birding locations located throughout the island, most are dominated with exotics species. With that being said, there are still a handful endemics, endemic subspecies, and interesting seabirds to be found.

  1. Thanks for the great guide. It provides needed logistical color to the eBird data about Oahu. I will be visiting later this month. Have a fantastic journey; enjoy the birds and the adventure! Thank you!

  2. Thank you for the wonderful descriptions of birding locations on Oahu; we were able to visit 3 of the 4 recommended sites, and want to thank you for making the directions so easy to follow. We never would have known to look in these places without your website! Our trips to Honouliuli NWR, Pouhala Marsh and Tantalus Drive were the highlights of our vacation in Oahu!
